Privacy policy
Last updated September 2026
DUPI Technology Ltd (company no. 17320242) is the data controller for DUPI. This policy explains what we (“DUPI”, “we”) collect when you use the DUPI app and this website, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain English.
What we collect
- Photos you scan — uploaded to find matching items, then used only to power that search.
- Colour-analysis selfies — if you use AI colour analysis, your photo is analysed in the moment to classify your colour type and then immediately discarded. We never store it, and we keep only the resulting type and a timestamp.
- Your style profile — colour season and optional fit preferences you choose to set.
- Saved items — the finds you add to your wishlist and wardrobe.
- Account basics — your email address, for sign-in and support.
- Usage analytics — privacy-friendly, aggregate metrics. No tracking cookies on this site.
How we use it
To identify items, find alternatives, personalise your verdicts to your colours, and keep your wishlist and wardrobe in sync. We do not sell your personal data.
Public wishlists
Sharing is off by default. If you turn on “anyone with the link”, only your saved items' photo, name, brand, price and shop link become visible to people with your link. Your sizes, colour profile and email are never shared. Turn it off any time to make the list private again.
Sharing with others
We use a small set of trusted processors to run DUPI. Each handles data only to provide its service:
- SerpApi / Google Lens — image search, to find visually similar items from a photo you scan.
- Anthropic — colour analysis; your selfie is processed in the moment to classify your colour type and is never stored.
- Google Gemini — AI styled looks and generated imagery.
- Supabase — hosting and database (your account, profile and saved items).
- AppsFlyer — advertising measurement, so we can tell which of our adverts brought people to DUPI. See the section below.
Retailer links may carry an affiliate tag so we can earn a small commission at no cost to you.
Advertising and measurement
We advertise DUPI, and we use AppsFlyer as our measurement partner so we can tell which adverts actually brought people to the app. Without it we would be guessing, and we would spend more on advertising than we need to.
What AppsFlyer receives:
- Device and advertising identifiers, and basic device and install information.
- A short list of app events — that you created an account, finished setting up, viewed a result, opened the membership screen, started a free trial or subscribed. Events only, with no detail of what you scanned or saved.
Your photos are never shared with anyone. The items you scan, your colour-analysis selfies and your wardrobe photos are not sent to AppsFlyer, to any advertising network, or to any other third party for advertising. They are used only to run the features described above.
On iPhone and iPad we ask you first. Apple requires your permission before an app can track you, and we ask before anything is used for advertising measurement. You can decline, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Declining does not change what the app does.
On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings › Google › Ads.
AppsFlyer's own privacy policy is at appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time. Delete your account from within the app, or email us at founders@dupi.co.uk and we'll remove your data.
